About Olivabot
Olivabot B.V. is a Dutch company in Amsterdam. We write computer programs, we consult, we host systems in Europe, and we do our own research.
What we do
- Software and firmware — programs for devices, the web, and data that stays in Europe
- Edge AI — models that run on the device, without a cloud connection
- Consultancy — a short call and a written report when you need a clear answer first
- Hosting and infrastructure — a dedicated EU server, backups, monitoring
- Security and testing — networks, systems, and what can leak from a camera or a database
- Research — our own experimental work, including Gibbon Bot. Not a product yet.
What you can hire
Firmware for devices that have to survive on a battery, edge AI that recognises and acts without a cloud, computer vision that turns cameras into usable data, and web applications that keep customer data on a server in the European Union. Clients are hardware startups, agritech and medtech teams, and founders who need something real rather than a slide deck. Work is remote and autonomous, across the EU, and invoiced from a Dutch BV.
We work in milestones, remote and autonomously. Email first; a call or video if you ask. We say up front what we think it will take, and start with the hardest risks. Research
Gibbon Bot is a robot bio-inspired by the gibbon — made for trees, not walking on two legs. It does not work yet. We have been developing it in the lab since May 2025. It is not a product and it is not for sale yet. In a few years, if funding allows and the research progresses, we might put it on the market. If we can make it work, the jobs we want it to do are maintenance, fruit picking, pruning, inspection, hail nets, and monitoring in groves, orchards, and forests.
What we are not
Not a workshop, not a factory, and not a field crew. We deliver calls, code, and design files. If a job needs someone to assemble boxes, run a printer, or drive a tractor, we will tell you that in the first reply.
DLAB
Olivabot started at DLAB, Demonstrator Lab Amsterdam — the incubator of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Shortly after the company was conceived they helped with office space, materials for prototyping, and business support.
