Engineering consultancy for Amsterdam fintech

Amsterdam is Europe's fintech capital, and most of its engineering problems are the same three: something is too slow, something has to be exactly right, or customer data is somewhere it should not be. Olivabot B.V. consults on all three. We price the outcome, not our hours — no day rate, no timesheet. Start with a €2,500 deep assessment, or bring us a defined piece of work. Remote or in your office.

What it costs

What you getFee excl. VAT
A deep technical assessment. We profile the hot path, or map where customer data actually goes, and hand back a prioritised plan: what to change, what to leave, what it buys you.€2,500
A fixed-scope project. A defined piece delivered end to end, agreed before we start.€5,000–€10,000
A larger engagement. Scoped in a free call, then one fee against an agreed result.from €10,000

What we take on

What we are not

We are not a high-frequency trading shop, and if your problem is nanoseconds on an exchange feed you want a specialist — most Amsterdam prop firms hire permanent staff for that anyway. We are not your security team, not auditors, and not a law firm. We do not sell a GDPR certificate.

We are useful to payments companies, lenders, ledger and treasury teams, and fintech scale-ups that need a senior consultant for days or weeks rather than a permanent hire.

Where the data lives

This comes up in almost every fintech conversation, so it is worth being plain about it. Keeping customer data on EU infrastructure is a technical decision we can make and implement: EU regions, EU-hosted models, backups that do not quietly cross an ocean, logs that do not contain what they should not.

It is not the same as being compliant. You still own that, and a lawyer still writes the policies. We can sign a processing agreement when we hold data on your behalf, and we can run the server in the EU if you would rather not.

Why a robotics company is talking about fintech

Because it is the same discipline. A trading stack and a battery-powered robot both punish waste: milliseconds in one, milliwatts in the other, and in both cases the fix is knowing what the hardware is really doing. We write firmware where every cycle costs battery and control loops that cannot miss a deadline. That habit transfers directly to code that has to be fast and predictable on a server.

See what we have shipped, or the robot we built for ourselves.

How to start

Email the stack and the pain: what language, what is slow or expensive or wrong, whether data has to stay in the EU, and what "fixed" would look like to you.

Reply within two working days. NDA before details if you want one — just say so.

Short answers

What does fintech engineering consulting cost?
€2,500 for a deep technical assessment, €5,000–€10,000 for a fixed-scope project, from €10,000 for a larger engagement. All excl. VAT and fixed before we start. No day rate.
Are you an HFT shop?
No. Payments, ledgers, risk, latency, and data residency — not exchange-feed nanoseconds. We will tell you when you need a specialist instead.
Do you send data to ChatGPT?
No, unless you ask. Agents run on an EU server you control, or one we host in the EU.
GDPR-proof?
No. Data can stay in Europe; you still own compliance. We can sign a processing agreement if we host.
On site or remote?
Either. We are in Amsterdam. Most work is remote with days in the city when it helps.
